COLD BY WINTER

Alternative / Screamo

Scoring the coveted mainstage local spot on Taste of Chaos 2006, will just up the ante for this talented band. Their debut album We The Living was described by Rip It Up as a 'non-stop juggernaut of metal-core riffage, hardcore breakdowns and the vocals of a man not afraid to add intellect to an otherwise sometimes simplistic genre. You're going to want to see 'em. (Extract from Taste of Chaos 2006 press release)

Cold By Winter have in the two years they have been together continually proven their worth dedicatedly and regularly playing live with both their own shows and supporting international acts of the calibre of Darkest Hour, Most Precious Blood, Hot Water Music, Terror, Mudvayne, Shai Halud, Day of Contempt, Nation Blue and The Jonestown Syndicate along the way. Not to forget the NZ heroes they have played alongside: The Bleeders, Blindspott, Sommerset, Kitsch and Cobra Kahn. Amongst all this the band managed to do 22 shows in 24 days throughout Europe in early 2006.

The band head across the ditch in July hoping to up their profile and to play two shows alongside Australian legends Sunk Loto on the Pulse festival. The band will also play a few of their own shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Then back to NZ to gear up for their slot on the 2006 Taste of Chaos bill and finish the pre-production on their follow up album.
