COLAPSO was born in Bello [Antioquia] by James Galvis initiative who then contacted Ramón Orozco as a drummer to start the musical project. Trying to build a solid sound, in a work of over two years since 1999, they formed a couple of projects called: Desidia [laziness] and Self-Made. At the mid-2001 they met Wilson Londoño who joins to the project in the leader guitar; then, in early 2002 Jaison Galvis joins the band at the bass, completing the musical line of the band; and soon in 2002 they joined with Luis Ruiz which completed the alignment of the band as vocalist.

The name COLAPSO came just months after the project was structured as a hardcore band with strong metal influences; soon being consolidated as one of the best contemporary Metalcore bands in Colombia.

In 2004, the band makes part of the recompilation album "Resiste Vol. 1" belonging and labeled by the social organization Antimilisonoro [Red Juvenil], with a version of the song "Acero (Steel)".

Then in 2008, using "Live Session" system we recorded 3 new songs as a promotional sound which became our first EP. At mid-year the band affront the departure of the drummer and co-founder Ramon Orozco; in his place, Alex Munera has joined to the band bringing it into a new stage of restructuring in musical composition.

Currently, we are in the pre-production of our first full album which will have a promotion with video of the single "ABORIGEN" Directed by filmmaker Yobanni Quintero.
