three new demos... listen to them!

hopes.dreams.emotions. something that we all experience and feel from time to time. what started almost 6 years ago as a dream for zac hagerty is slowly becoming a reality. being able to capture those moments in life and share them through music. hoping to project the feelings into thoughts of ' i know what that feels like' or 'ive been there a few times.' through many line up changes and the various 'band politics' closer to hope has down sized to a one man project. feeling that zac could much better express himself, and say what he wanted to say through his music. after almost a year of playing shows around anchorage zac went into the studio with friend and producer levi johnson. what started as a 3 song demo soon turned into a 5 song demo and then a 7 song EP. 5 of the songs are recorded with a full band sound with the help of long time friend and ex-band member tyson heriot(drums), ex-shurman steadfast drummer jason reando(drums), and levi johnson(guitar,bass,percussion,background vocals). engineered, produced and mixed by levi johnson in a relatively quick 21 hours of recording come the first 5 songs for the debut release entitled "the outroduction:part1." two more songs were later added while playing some shows in fairbanks alaska. after the second show, two acoustic songs were recorded in a midnight session. zac though it would be cool to record these two songs in one take. giving it a true and almost live sound. the final two songs were produced by ben callahan. these two songs are left in its raw and un-mastered form. zac had previously met an up and coming producer and musician stephen pettyjohn (tears burn june, the common thread, angelia pinkston.) zac sent the 5 original songs off to stephen to have them mastered, to give the fullest 'full band' sound possible. so after a year in a fresh new music scene closer to hope brings you 7 songs that were written in the last year. watch for ''the outroduction:part1" in the next few weeks. the demos are up if you would like to hear them. contact zac hagerty at closertohope@hotmail.com if you would like to get information on how to get an ep!
