AN AWESOME YEAR
blog post
2005 turned out to be on the far side of our expectations. we enjoyed every single month of it and have met so many interesting new people on the road. also the affiliation with crater8records in august of last year, brought us new friends. bene, andi and thomas you guys really are like brothers and made us know theres people with the same ideals and enthusiasm about music out there in this hardly comprehensible and understandable business. of course also the rest of our team is deep within our hearts and we wouldnt be at this point now without you. a list of your names would take all of this page, so i better get saying thanks to you personally ;).
so what happened this year?
i guess you dont want a list, or do you? ill just share some of the most important moments of it with you. when we started 2005 with pluvious tomorrows in hands, we were pretty unsure about everything. we really had a horror of how hard it was going to be, just to have music as a job without knowing if it would even get the attention it needed.
we felt like newborn little plants at that point of time.
soundportal was the first radio station that gave us heavy rotation and made the album record of the week (special thanks to dietmar tschmelak for the everlasting motivation!). the unbelievable support of their listenership equipped us with the neccessary confidence.
deevel and mark s. berry were already promoting us in north america and it all looked pretty bright when universal wanted to release the album. well, everything was signed and prepared, when then the cds disappeared on the way to canada. alot money got wasted because of the delay and we werent able to afford a restart with universal. some people were taken to court and everything got messed up. all together we decided to let the release over there rest a bit and finally ended up doing it in the middle of 2005.
a big thanks to skunk d.f. (especially pepe and carlos) who invited us to play some shows with them later in 2005 in their beautiful country spain. the shows, the people and the cities are still inspiring us and will always stay coining memories.
right after we came home from spain, we released the album in austria and promoted it throughout the country. also or new video for colourcollision got finished. eat my dear (markus hornof and patrick sturm), who produced the video, created a breathtaking visualization of the song. later that year it got airplay on the channel gotv and also got featured in the stash magazine issue #14, which monthly delivers the world's most outstanding and innovative commercial animation, vfx and motion graphics.
i could write an endless paragraph about the pluvious nights tour. to spare you this, ill just tell you that it was the best time weve ever had. we played awesome venues like cbgbs gallery, continental, sin- and others. well never forget anyone of who we met, cos all of you are awesome persons and we hope to see you again in 2006! special thanks to manfred, denice, jacky and lexy - we are family! also a big thank you to mandy desmond and daniel feder for the great support. well be back soon new york new york!
so, finally i arrived here, after the end of the year and the startover with new hopes and higher goals. currently were locked up inside our little preproduction studio to work on new material full of excitement, inspiration, and memories.
this year is gonna rock more than any other before!
your support really makes us feel special and supplies us with the energy we need to do all this! we wish all of you a happy and successful new year!
THANK YOU!
peace and kisses,
marian
