CHIPKO is a four-piece band from Hamburg, Germany. With its roots in Hardcore, Punkrock, Rap and jazzy, eperimental stuff the group is on its way to create a punkrock tasted flavour with outraging moshy riffs added with some swinging and rocking kisses for the wicked and those alive and kicking! The word is spread about upright encounters, being lost and found, falling to pieces and recollecting forgotten dreams finding aphorisms for a constant motivation!

CHIPKO is a postive Group of Individuals! Respect for each other and emancipation is part of our music... to come together, to speak the word, to dance, to get funky, to rock it all out, to scream from the bottom of the heart...

Our first release is out now! It is called "autochrome" It is the first chipko release and contains 100% d.i.y. culture! The 4 songs on "autochrome" are recorded and mixed by the band in a good quality. The CD is coming to you in a handcrafted cover and a transparent booklet! Each piece is a unique item!!! CHIPKO ist eine vierkoepfige Band aus Hamburg, die seit Fruehjahr 2008 aktiv ist! Die Band bewegt sich zwischen Postpunk und progressivem Rock. Das ganze hat hier und da ein paar Schreie, Raps, mal einen Hauch von Indie-Krams, manchmal sogar eine kurze Passage Swing, um danach das feine moshende Hardcore-Brett aus der Tasche zu holen und auf den Punkt zu bringen was auf den Punkt gehoert. Textlich handeln die Stuecke von aufrichtiger Begegnung, das Ueberwinden von Gebrochenheit, von Endlichkeit, von Zersplitterung und Zusammenfuegung des Daseins im Ganzen, um eigene Aphorismen zur stetigen Motivation zu finden und auszuloten!

CHIPKO ist eine positive Kombo! Respekt und Emanzipation sind Teil unserer Musik... sich treffen, schnacken, abgehen, rocken, um in den Fluß zu kommen und die Verbitterung wegtreiben zu lassen!
