Hey folks. I'm brand new to pure volume as of Nov 2006, and I like it.
I write songs and make records... well, one so far. It's the collection of folk-rock-soul songs for acoustic guitar and piano known as Carry Us Away. You can get it on iTunes and cdBaby.
I tour sometimes, like back in July and August when we played 16 shows in three weeks all over the West... and I love the West. On that trip were Jesse Carr who played guitar and sang, Annie Peters who did the same, but in her own way, and Danielle Costello who bowed the violin.
And then there's my band, who we haven't given a lasting name to, consisiting of my brothers Will (drums, rhythmic things etc.) and Carson (guitar, bass), Josh Stauter (piano, organ etc.) and Jesse Carr (guitar, bass, synth). A young, fresh filmmaker with the initial I says he's making a documentary about us, and that's exciting.
Big Influences: Wilco, Hank Williams, Beck, Bob Dylan, The Band, Django Reinhardt, Madeleine Peyroux, Daniel Lanois.
I'm working on my next full lenth and hoping it will be out in 2007. I might put out an EP of current unreleased recordings before this happens. We'll see.

Also:
I play guitar for and co-produce my dad, Jule Medders.
In my hometown of Calhoun, GA I was in a band called Hevroy, an americana rock band with Will and the very talented brothers Trey and Andrew Bentley. Hevroy kind of "uncle tupeloed" into my thing and the Cash Farm Killers. Look for them.
I'm collaborating with a guy who we'll for now call Fox on a project entitled Telepone Phone Wheel
I live in Nashville Tennessee.
