Chelsea Ventura is an artist of sensational stature. Her voice warms listeners with powerful lush melodies whether she's performing her own material or reinventing the classics. She started vocalizing at a young age, first studying classical music from members of the Atlanta Opera. The sounds of Led Zeppelin and Etta James quickly inspired her to further her repertoire by combining sultry jazz licks and blues tones with driving rock grooves, which cultivated her powerful sound.
Chelsea was under the tutelage of Melissa Ellen at the prestigious Jan Smith Studios the years preceding her four-year achievement-based scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music fulltime in Boston. She also studied and wrote original songs under the guidance of guitar-genius Mark Cook, who received the Just Plain Folks Best Blues Album of the Year award for his 2001 and 2002 albums. Chelsea has performed with The Cook-n-Blues Experience at local shindigs, and is now working on a full length album with Mark.
Currently directing Chelsea on voice principles is Mark Baxter, whose clientele consist of Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), members of Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet Revolver), Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls), and many others. Chelsea has appeared on her own, accompanying herself, at various clubs; and, on the other hand, has always enjoyed lending her improvisational notes to various musical groups. Most recently Chelsea was in Nashville working with songwriting legends Monty Powell (Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts) and Anna Wilson (Reba McEntire) while her current Boston-based band, Rising Motion, developed their unequivocal sound. The songstress is enjoying the beginnings of a prolific songwriting career, while she continues crafting her ability with hopes to share her voice with the world. Her impeccable, raw talent is bound to inspire a handful of listeners to date.
