In a city now known more for its murder rate, than billboard toppers, Chase Da Kidd has risen above all else who tries to put their city back on the map. The city that we speak of is Philadelphia. Yes Philly is a well know city, it just seem were gettin less and less know for our musical abilities. Chase Da Kidd was born in Wilson Park Projects, on the south side of Philadelphia. On March 28, 1989 Allen Hamilton III was born. At the age of 7yrs old, a fatal car accident took Chases father away from him, leaving him to grow up in a single parent home. About a year after the accident, Chase's mother decided to take advantage of a program called Section 8, that the Philadelphia Housing Authority gave to family's with low income. It was a chance to relocate. The move took the family to West Philadelphia, this is where Chase life would change for the better.
After elementary school, Chase went to Saint Rose Of Lima Catholic school. Not really liking the environment of Catholic school, and his mother struggling to pay the tuition, His mom decided to put Chase back in public school. Shoemaker Middle School, is where he ended up attending. On the home front, Chase began to gain a interest in rapping, and recording, when he used to try and sit in on his older brothers, recording sessions that he used to have in his home studio, Chase began to battle other rappers in his school. After graduating from middle school, he went on to attend Overbrook High School, that was right down the street from his house. On the first day of school at Overbrook, Chase proclaimed himself King Of Hight School. This is where his music career started to take fold.
After quickly showing all of his pears in school that he was the best battle rapper, it was time to show his pears he could make good records. Chase wrote his first breakthrough record at the age of 16, tittled Chase In Da Game. Till this day that song still gets people attention. Chase began doing open mics at various night clubs around the city when he was in the 10th grade. Chase deciced he had to broden his stance by putting out a mixtape tittle, "The King Of Highschool vol. 1". Afther that garnered a lite succes in Overbook, and a couple of other surrounding highschool, he started working on his First solo album, thats still under production. Philadelpia has a reputation for artist not really doing well, theres only been a couple that had have main stream success, in the likes of, Will Smith, Eve, and Beanie Siegel. After not really gettin invited to be on the Rap Dvds, that are heavely flooded on the streets of Philadelphia, Chase and his brothers, who just happen to be up and coming music producers as well, deciced to go another route with Chase's music career.
After performing for more than 2 years on the open mic circuit, it was time for a bigger vinue for Chase. The first step was given the chance to open for a group who garnered national success, with their song and dance, "Lean Wit it, Rock wit it", Chase peformed in front of a croud of about 1000, people for the first time. Not stopping there, Chase is also to be featured, on a popular, New York dvd magazine, tittled Kush dvd magazine. Thats not all of the press he is garnered, Chase was also featured as an act on one of the citys local tv stations. Chase is set to appear on Urban Expression, who also features nationaly know acts singed to major labels, and is the most known about underground tv show in the City. Chase is also scheduled to apper at Millersville again this spring, performing at the fashion show, and opening the spring concert for, "Jim Jones". Millersville is where Chase first performed in front of his biggest crowd, and with an act like, Jim Jones, the crowed is going to be even bigger. Chase already has relationships with other know artist and actors/actresses, by way of one of his child hood friends, who happens to be Will Smith's nephew. Its funny how small the world, hopefully Chase can be the next artist out of Philly, to do what Will Smith, and thats have a long profitable, and succesfull career.
