Chaguar started writing his own songs in 2003, and after a short stint in the band Cordt Akers and the Jaguars, decided to concentrate more on his own music. He wrote, recorded, produced, and played instruments for all the songs on his new album, "Stupid Love Songs." His primary influences include Ryan Adams, the Appleseed Cast, .Moneen, the Early November, Koufax, Ben Folds Five, Damien Rice, and Spoon.

Chaguar's live shows consist of traditional acoustic songs blended with electronic beats and loops. He grew up in Oklahoma, but now lives in Columbia, Missouri and attends the University of Missouri.
