twas beauty killed the beast

...this was the last line to king knog. after a few frustrating days of driving and a show cancellation it was nice to be here in athens GA with friends. even that last line to a movie did not bother me as much as it normally would have. we are cut from cloth the size of stars and folded over and over and over till thick skin starts to develop. comfort comes when you can sit side by side adn get sown back together without a need for stretching or clipping or burning. i know who they are. we know when we force it but we still do it_over and over and over.
when stopping in NYC we looked at the famous tree and both joel and i felt deceived by our expectations of its size/beauty. it was late at night and stinging cold but dissapointing nonetheless. late night tuna melts and french fries were stunning in comparison.
it is not quite as warm as we expected/wished in NC and GA. there were a few good cups of coffee and a puppetmaster more entertaining than three Cedarwell shows in chapel hill. we met some nice folks who let us stay at their house. one of them has a band that is very good. they are on myspace called nathan asher and the infantry. check it out.
children circle the wooden table blinded by a fathers sweater. chasing a voice now heard_now silent__now heard. towards the back of the mind a vision of stagnant floating discs appear to dissappear. gone like fog still present but wisked to the past; strands of hair tangled in eyelashes climbing up and slippign down. slipping down till finally locked tight till daylight.
good night.
