the corners of mouths after rain

blog post
stories stretch towards the middle of an individual somewhere in the telling. for me formemefor4. lately things seem so subjective that a definitive statement or opinion is a floating leaf--dead and slowly approaching a destination further and further from its life source and arriving only to be overlooked and trampled and covered by newer autumn sacrifices. like we look at each other and strain for some understanding in a glance or similar pronunciation. is it contrived and personal so much so that all we celebrate is the bits of ourselves in others? question?
are there not those who are similar?
relation calls to blood
exchange yourselves with un-selves!
celebration follows
seeing our own faces in the lines of others
in the crease of an nose up stuck in confusion
in the watery eyes blue-grey-green
in the corners of mouths after rain
in curled fingers
in music
pure bred and mixed but always sameness
and so i lose my thought train (happening more and more) and i attempt to blame it on sensitivity rather than ignorance but maybe i am wrong. possible. watched a girl watch a window cry and deep in the reflection the tears spat back her own (my opinion). if there was a way i would dry them and not stop till the ocean faded into desert. swallow hurt like some serpent charmer near the gate of a city guarded by the ever drying sun. walk bloated through the streets of upturned corners and parched cheeks. years and years worth held in with constant knowledge-constant empathy with what no longer exists.

translation: a lot of people have trouble communicating with one another/i wish i could help

we have been driving now for a little over a week on our way to boston. the shows have been going well. we really appreciate so many of you guys coming out to listen. grand rapids MI always surprises us with a big turnout and attentive ears. the other shows have been more intimate but equally as conscientious. it is always nice to spend time and play music with our former band mate zach Vinson. he played along for a few songs when we played in grand rapids (probably the reason for the turnout) and joel played drums on a new recording of his. be on the lookout for his upcoming musical endeavors. he is insightful and talented. turn the wheel to you left now to your right. further right furtherfurtherfurthernow you know what it is like to turn your wheel to the right.
