Right now its about having fun. That is not to say that Catching Thieves arent serious about their music. Two self released CDs (2005s EP The Stories on Page One and this years The Enemy), two summer tours, and several shows in and around their hometown of Waldorf, Maryland prove just how hungry Catching Thieves are for success. Although weve been around, I still feel like we are the underdogs, laments frontman Aaron Green. Rounded out by drummer Jesse Posey, Bassist Stefan Raguindin, and guitarist Alex Hays and Mike Bridgett, Catching Thieves took those frustrations to the studio last fall for the recording their first full length record.
Produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, Senses Fail) The Enemy is heavy, emotionally driven, and easy as hell to sing along to. Anthems like Katie and Provocateur examine and dismiss their detractors. Stand outs Get By and Long Journey to the Middle showcased the evolution of their sound.
Being a band for over two years, the boys have matured as musicians, songwriters, and friends. Having outgrown most of the songs on The Enemy, they have already begun writing exhilarating new material for an upcoming EP. Some of which can be heard at their captivating live show. Thats where the fun comes in. These new songs are about letting go, having a good time, and not taking ourselves too seriously. We want people to move when they hear our new stuff. All dancing, two stepping, and moshing are welcome.
Join the party. Get your ass to a show! Experience the monster that is Catching Thieves.
