My brother just formed his band. I helped with the name. They're called "Ampers & Goodbye". So far, the only thing he's uploaded is a farse rap, which is completely NOT what the band will be like. But keep checking in. He'll post some real tracks soon enough. They're extremely talented, so if you're paying close enough attention, you'll catch them before the rest of the world does...
Wouldn't you like to be somebody you could say you were one of the very first who ever heard of them? I always like it when I can say I was a first...

My friend Jeremy Ball and I are writing a lot together. We're working on some really amazing stuff. Just yesterday, his brother came over and it felt as though the package was completed. Jeremy, his brother Josh, and I will most likely be forming our band pretty soon. Jeremy and I are going to continue working on our stuff. We'll probably take some of my older stuff and recycle it into songs for the band. Which is great, because they'll be like brand new songs! Which is so exciting for me. I think I much prefer the "band" method than the "solo" method. I never liked the idea of being an independent artist. I would much rather not be in the spotlight and simply be an equal partner in a bigger project.
Now to think up band names... Hmm...

I've replaced "Hymn" with "Seeker." Time for something new, I guess.
Enjoy.

December 1
It's December 2005 and it's been two years since I've recorded anything new. This is disheartening. But then, so much has happened in the last two years. Perhaps all the overwhelming changes--moving across the country, pursuing my first real relationship, and going back to school to finish my bachelor's--simply made it too difficult to sit down and write something new. I mean, I've written a couple new things, but nothing worth mentioning or sharing.
I haven't been interested in New Year's resolutions since the sixth grade, but maybe this year, I can make an exception. This year, I'm going to give myself permission to write music. I feel like I've been restricting myself to photography, writing and painting and I need to allow myself to explore my songwriting again.
Also, I'm delving into some innovative vocal work. I'm listening to singers different than what I typically listen to. I'm exploring the jazz realm. A friend of mine told me I could sing jazz if I wanted and that really appealed to me. So I'm going to see how that influence can benefit my sound and writing skills.
Anyway. That's all for now.
