in 2004, mitchell got assigned a project in his history class. wanting to be creative, he enlisted cody's help to write a song entitled "assembly line" that he performed in class for a grade. it was then that carlos and the canteens was born. since then, they have written numerous songs, mostly of the comical genre. many of these songs were recorded as gifts for friends and loved ones. one in particular, "soccer", was recorded as a christmas present for the guys favorite cousins. at present, the 'swifterson e.p.' and 'the carlos and the canteens collection' are in circulation. carlos and the canteens make music that is fun and enjoyable to old and young alike. after hearing such tunes as "safety" or "the armada", how could you not love these guys?! be on the look-out for fresh music from carlos and the canteens in the very, very, very, very, very near future.
