At first listen, Caitlin Frames music can be easily categorized as the latest in independent pop songs produced by female vocalists with strong voices and a talent for crafting catchy lyrics. That, alone, is a terrific feat for an up-and-coming musical artist in a world, which sometimes makes it difficult for anyone to make it. However, a more thorough exploration of Frames music reveals that even this first-glance positive approach to her sound doesnt quite capture the true quality of this Boston singers way with the language of music. Frame incorporates a variety of different sounds within each song to keep the listener always on his or her toes, changing things up just enough to maintain your interest while providing enough stability in what she offers to make it easy to get sucked into the music.

This talent is best exhibited on Give In, a song with lyrics, which are catchy enough that you find yourself singing along before your first time through the song. The song alternates between this pop attitude and a more complex musical approach. It begins quietly, with raw vocals, which evoke early 1990s grrrl rock feelings but quickly moves into the pop that is more evocative of singers (think Aimee Mann). The center of the song explores instrumental details, which have alternative roots but also offer some late twentieth century pop flavor that reminds listeners of bands like the Bangles. The end result is a song, which has rocker girl edge but pop danceability.

Shes been releasing music for the last five years and has a discography, which includes five different EP releases. For the past year, she has been playing with a band of four boys whose instrumental talents have added to her vocals to create new and stimulating sounds. As each member of the band pushes their own boundaries, their collective sound grows as evidenced on their most recent songs. Frame describes herself as always late but she seems to be providing a fresh musical perspective to the music scene with perfectly impeccable timing.
