In late October of 2004 By means of Suffocation was formed by 5 musicians who love music and for the most part have stuck with one sound in mind...HEAVY. Kriss, Jeremy and Dylan, in August of 2004, formed a heavy metal band Sinetary. Then, a couple months later we decided it was time to grow in our sound with filling Zakk in on guitar. We had been looking for a singer for a while, but unfortunatly we live in the smallest of towns with a population of under 1000. So clearly you can see it was one hell of a task finding a singer that fit our standards. Then in late October Zakk mentioned that he knew a guy that listen to the same exact music and sang like the devil, Chris Sipes. The very next practice we had him come down to audition. We were amazed with his voice. Before we finished the first song everybody knew that he was the one. Few weeks later we decided that Sinetary wasn't the right name for us. We sat around for hours thinking of a name and Zakk blurted out "What about By Means of Suffocation?" Instantly, it clicked...that was the name to be. So this is where the story ends...for now. The road to becoming a great metal band will be interesting. So hold on and prepare for one amazing band to blow your mind and amaze you without saying a word. Some influences for us (In no specific order): Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, From Autumn to Ashes, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Underoath.
