Members: Steve Lopez (Guitar), Daniel Allan (Guitar), Colin Chambers (Bass Guitar), Adam Brown (Vocals), Ray Hearne (Drums)
Burn Before You began with Steve Lopez (Guitar) and Colin Chambers (Bass Guitar) jamming in Steve's room. After deciding they wanted to form a band with the material they had written, they advertised for other band members. At this point, Daniel Allan (Guitar) joined, slotting in nicely with the style Steve and Colin were aiming to achieve. To add a harshness to the flowing melodic hardcore, they decided to employ the vocals of Adam Brown. Since then, Ray Hearne has joined on drums. The overall sound merges aspects of metal, metalcore with a hint of post hardcore to create something c*nting heavy but melodic at the same time. Enjoy :)
METAL HAMMER REVIEW - DEMO OF THE MONTH - 9/10 (March 2006)
'By accident we caught these dudes playing in a South London bar and liked what we saw: five young guys pumping out modern metalcore like fucking pros. With a growl like a tantrumming troll, the sultry-looking lead singer - fag in hand - ploughs through the band's repertoire, including a few Killswitch cover tracks. The demo we demanded from them (like angry teachers) showcases all the killer riffs, mesmerising breakdowns and pounding energy we'd witnessed on the night. Sure, the band don't look like Pantera, but they can write, perform and play better than too many signed bands to name. It's obvious that they're clearly inspired by metalcore stalwarts like Killswitch/36CF/Unearth and little else. So who cares about obscure hardcore/prog/black metal inspiration when missionary metalcore sounds this good? If Burn Before [You] keep up the good work, they'll have nothing but a bright future.'
