Buffalo Alice takes a wide variety of musical styles and genres and makes their own unconventional, organic, stripped down blend that seems to fit into any number of genres, yet doesn't seem to really fit into any genre. The group's unconventional writing and recording process combined with front man Alex Aaron's prolific songwriting have yielded four albums in three years, with two more scheduled for simultaneous release in the spring of 2010. These albums all feature elements of pop, rock, country, folk and punk. Aaron's songs are simple yet deep, taking happy upbeat tunes and layering them swelling string arrangements by classically trained musician Chris Morrissey (bassist for Ben Kweller). The lyrics have been described as a clever and stinging condemnation of not only American society, but of human's perception of reality.
