Brushfire Nation is not just a band, and it's not just music- it's a heart cry for the glory of God to burn across the earth. It's a vision of many "brushfires" of revival burning into one inextinguishable flame of revival.

The members of Brushfire Nation seek to release a message of perpetual revival that's rooted in communion and fellowship with Jesus and sustained by abundant grace. With a sound that has been characterized as passionate and prophetic, Brushfire Nation desires to impart a heart for worship and for the presence of God. The band hopes that its music will inspire and enhance the body of Christ, while drawing people into the Father's heart.

The members of the band are actively involved in their local churches, either by serving on their churches' respective worship teams or helping with the youth programs. All of the members of the band got their start in music while leading worship in their high school chapel band.

"Worship is woven into the fabric of who we are," Lead Singer Josh Lindsey said. "It's where we started. From the beginning, we were unknowingly being trained by the Holy Spirit to lead in worship."

The formation of the band has been a steady evolution spanning over a decade. Within that time, members of the band won a national talent competition and spent nearly a year in Honolulu, Hawaii ministering to inner city kids. They also released a full-length album on an independent record label, and even briefly tried their hand as a secular band called The Lovers and the Fighters. God used all of these things to sharpen and define their purpose.

If you were to ask, the musicians of Brushfire Nation would all say they enjoy worshiping with a few people as much as -- if not more -- than playing in front of thousands- something they've received the opportunity to do on several occasions. The band once opened for Big Daddy Weave at a youth conference in Arlington, Texas, and was one the of opening bands for Steven Curtis Chapman at a conference in Knoxville, Tennessee. However, the band remains focused on ministering to the Father and to people, and considers pursuing God's heart more important than pursuing career opportunities.

The band's name is actually taken from a worship and prayer service started in a coffee shop by Josh and the band's bassist, Matt VanGieson. The group continues to meet every Thursday night, releasing the same passionate message that birthed the name "Brushfire Nation."
