Bruiser is a movement existing and expanding in its own world - uninfluenced by the necessities of current trends and adhering to its own positive reinforcement. As we see it, we all need to look inside of ourselves to discover
what truly drives us and gives reason to what we truly believe in. Following the opinions of those that have created a world for the benefit of themselves will
only further encourage our delusion of honesty; no matter what the subject - music, government, human interaction. While we strive to find this honesty in our own music, at the same time Bruiser may very well represent the most
educated "fuck you" you've ever experienced.
"Bully For Flux" is Bruiser at its best - big drums, thumping, distorted bass, massive guitars, all covered in a nasty, aggressive vocal gloss. Our approach? Keep it simple, keep it honest.
Bruiser broke onto the Chicago music scene in 2005 after Dan (guitar & vocals) and Clarke (bass) wrote some songs and recruited Joe Daniels (Local H) to come into the studio to drum on an EP. The product was tight and the fit was naturally seamless. The collaboration turned out to be more than a one and done project--Bruiser emerged. After a two-year stint with Joe, Bruiser enlisted their current drummer, Chris Balagot, to continue the rock-a-torical onslaught.
In the Fall of 2006, Bruiser crafted the full-length album âFantastic Theoryâ with Producer Steven Haigler (The Pixies, Quicksand, Local H) and the former Chief Mastering Engineer for A&M Records, Dave Collins (Soundgarden, Q.O.T.S.A., Porno for Pyros). In the Spring of 2008 Bruiser released âRightBeforeTheStopAheadâ and once again enlisted Steven Haigler to mix. In the summer of 2009 they released their third record "I Sold Hand-Grenades To The Salvation Army."
