Eat a good breakfast every morning, campers. It's good for you!
Work has been slowly-but-surely progressing on the new album. With the bass guitar tracks recorded, it's on to Richard's keyboards now. I got the bass recorded with relatively little trouble. The computer only crashed once, I only had one day of beating my head against the wall while trying to do 15-20 takes per song (only got 1 song down for good that night), and I only blew out 1 amplifier. We won't talk about that anymore (grumble, grumble).
However, we did manage to not burn down the house or annihilate its "electrical system". I use that term loosely. 1 more new song has managed to work its way into the lineup for the album. It's dark and bluesy and awesome. We've also tossed around the idea of adding a short jam session to the track list, as well.
The weather here has been typical Southwestern Virginia spastic lately. 25-30 degree temp jumps/falls from one day to the next are fun. Brandon's been back in town for a while now to hang out, do recording, and try to support raise around here for a bit. Needless to say, much Halo has been played (and the villagers rejoiced). His new bane, however, is Zelda on the ol' N64. It's fun to watch. As for me: I'm just excited that Carbon Leaf is coming back to the 'burg in April.
With upcoming events in Virginia Beach and Nashville on the horizon, February looks to be a busy month. It's a welcome change. Stay tuned for details. Keep a weather eye on the horizon. Keep that fish a fryin'. Don't shave a mongoose too close. (subliminal advertising: buy the CD). Well, stay cool and groovy you crazy cats. Until then (whenever that is)!
