Broken Element came together in early 2006. Their hard work earned them a coveted spot on the 2006 Flipside Festival lineup alongside national acts Sugarcult, Motion City Soundtrack, Reliant K, Cartel & more. After a slight lineup change they feverishly began writing some new tunes and headed into the studio by October that same year to begin work on their first official EP. With assorted musical backgrounds and a plethora of different influences that range from Incubus, Helmet, Rush, to Heart, these four kids from the metro area combine to form a unique blend of alternative rock all their own. During their time as a band they certainly created quite a buzz for themselves in the DC/MD/VA music scene and were even featured on 98 Rock's "Noise in the Basement" show hosted by Matt Davis. According to one review, they set the stage aflame with some amazing songs featuring sick female vocals and stirring melodies and "really know how to let loose a ballad with tenderness and bust a hard rock tune with bite.
