Brenan plays no-frills, emotional rock music founded on strong melodies and irresistible choruses. The band formed in Spring 2004 as Remanence, but had to change to the name due to legal reasons in Summer 2005. Brenan is currently an established five-piece outfit with soaring vocal harmonies, a catchy double guitar attack, melodic keyboard interludes, and a groovy rhythm section headed by bass and drums. Brenan has been hailed by critics as a "band to keep an eye on," (Lafayette Music League, Summer 2005) and "more mature than most young acts" (Tipp-C Magazine, June 2005).

Band highlights include being chosen as one of "Indy's Top 10 Live" in March 2005 by Indianapolis Music and later being chosen as an "Artist of the Week" in July, 2005, embarking on a 7-state tour with 7 Degrees from Center spanning May and June 2005, and being included on the list of Pure Volume's Top Played Rock Bands from Indiana. Media exposure has come in the form of radio airplay (91.1 WEDM, 92.3 WTTS), newspaper coverage (Indianapolis Star, NUVO Newsweekly), and Magazine articles (Tipp-C Lafayette).

The release of their debut album, Building Houses by Ear, marked a milestone for the band with their release show being February 26, 2005. However, the best is yet to come. Brenan will be playing select high-profile shows opening for national acts later in 2005. Watch for the band to come to a town near you, as they continue building a following by playing all around the Midwest.
