"You'll look out for me?! Man, this guy makes me laugh!"

Hey cyber-spaced chums, it's been a while. ...

This tasty blog goes some way to detailing the randomness of a night in Southampton, what we can remember of it at least. We made three very different friends the night of our Battle of the Bands Semi; Mirror-D, Gay Ray and our "Manager" (who's name we still don't remember), all of whom added to the surreality of the evening. Here's how it went....

We got to soundcheck a respectable 15 minutes late, considering Duff's driving nearly killed us all a few times on the journey over. Soundcheck was running late so it wasn't a problem, and we managed to get an intimate preview of the fantastic G.R.O.O.V.E, who do eactly what they say on the tin! Soundcheck done, and we headed down the pub for a few pre-pint pints, and a couple of games of pool. On the way we were stopped by a perculiar man with a curtain tie on his head, who insisted rapping to us for a full 10 minutes. We were impressed but slightly nearvous, especially as he broke into a chours of "Gimmie your money or I'll fuckin' knife you!". Needless to say Mirror-D was the inspiration behind today's title.

So we settle at the pub, and soon learn that the guy on the table was abusing the "winner stays on" rule, by bleeding us dry of pints when we lost, so after a while we offered to get him in for the night as our pennies were running dangerously low. He agreed and that's how we met our "manager" for the evening! As we tried to leave, realising that the doors had already been open for half an hour, Pizzle was unfortunately on the recieving end of a pass by "Gay Ray" (he didn't see the funny side, we're still laughing now!). For you myspace geeks out there, our "title" next to our picture will explain all.

We get on stage late due to over-running sets, and blitz through five songs, and a new "chav themed" introduction to So Cold (www.myspace.com/breakinghtegirluk for a download), which went down pretty well. We thought it went OK, however practically every person in the venue voted for us, before joining in a chant of "B-T-G, B-T-G". Nice.

Despite this amazing response, we were still very nearvous about the outcome, only two bands from the night would go through to the Southern Final. A few shots later and the announcement was made.... We won! So we've booked a place in the Southern Final at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms on July 11th. 11 bands, one goes through to London. It's gonna be tight!

So that was the tale of our eventful Sunday evening, it would've been longer but the after show alcohol erased much of our memories. Before we go just a quick plug to say we're playing at the Thomas Tripp tomorrow.... Saturday night, best pub in Lymington, you do the maths!

We'll be sure to keep you posted on our next adventure, until then.....
