"There are a lot of talented musicians out there that can write a catchy song. The hard part is writing a catchy song that means something."

It is armed with this mantra, that Brandon Chuang (pronounced "Chwong") approaches his music. With an over abundance of meaningless pop saturating the airwaves, Brandon's music is a breath of fresh air. His goal--to create a "windows down, music up" vibe that marries both James Taylor song stylings with his childhood love of Motown--is to not only make music that is fun, but that also tells a story. The songsmith's lyrics first attitude parlays into a percussive acoustic style that is laced with melodic harmonies and messages of hope, love, and loss. "A lot of people know how seriously I take my music, and are worried that as a result, the music itself will be too serious," says Chuang. "The first record I ever bought was Michael Jackson's single 'P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).' I'm pretty sure I know how to get the party started."

Be on the lookout for Brandon's new EP, SOFTER, which will be released this summer.
