BRAND NEW SIN

Southern Rock / Rock / Metal

BRAND NEW SIN have returned with a voracious hard rock assault laden with soaring, captivating melodies and crushing anthems that are sure to get anyones blood flowing and fists pumping. This highly anticipated new offering, Tequila, features an abundance of stellar guitar work from Kenny Dunham and Kris Wiechmann, who stepped up greatly to further establish themselves as one of rocks premiere tandems. The Syracuse-based quintet have greatly evolved over the past few years, honing their musicianship to become one of the most acclaimed pure American rock acts around today.

BRAND NEW SIN first burst upon the scene in 2002 with their groundbreaking self-titled Now Or Never Records debut album. The stunning debut offering was produced by local knobsman Pete Walker at Village Recorders in Liverpool, New York and was one of those rare rock records erected through sheer talent, skill, passion and an iron clad work ethic. It boasted an undeniable raw fury that quickly had critics hailing the band as the next big thing in rock.

The group went on to earn a devoted legion of fans through relentless touring with a wide array of artists, from Black Label Society and Slayer to Breaking Benjamin and Saliva. It's the stunning blend of frontman Joe Altier's captivating roar and melodic overtones mixed with the band's gritty, rock-solid rhythm section, stunning dual guitar solos and pummeling hooks that helped this group standout from the pack and appeal to a diverse audience. "Brand New Sin is unyielding rock n roll power and timelessness," says Altier, "You can pick our record up 20 years from now and it will still feel as fresh and relevant as it does today." Indeed, BRAND NEW SIN forged a path to ultimately join the ranks of classic bands like AC/DC.

In 2003, BRAND NEW SIN added new drummer Kevin Dean to the fold, while longtime guitarists Kenny Dunham, Kris Wiechmann and bassist Chuck Kahl stepped up their involvement. The band ultimately grew tighter and their newfound energy was put into their songwriting for the greater half of 2004, as the band hooked back up with Walker to record their eagerly awaited sophomore offering. The early demos quickly caught the attention of Century Media Records, who immediately signed the band to a worldwide deal.

The group stormed back with the stunning Recipe For Disaster album in 2005, which immediately received critical praise from Billboard and Entertainment Weekly, while Guitar One and Guitar World both hailed them as a band to keep an eye on. Recipe For Disaster saw the group begin to find their definitive sound incorporating a variety of metal and hard rock influences ranging from Motorhead and Guns N' Roses to Pantera and Metallica, while traces of Lynyrd Skynyrd remain evident, lending them the sort of bluesy, swampy edge they are best known for.

They proceeded to tour relentlessly with such genre titans as Black Label Society, C.O.C. and Motorhead, further solidifying their diehard fanbase as Fuse and MTV2 embraced the epic track Black and Blue. They also recently recorded a new version of the entrance theme music for Big Show, the 7-foot, 500-pound ECW wrestler. The theme, "Crank It Up," was first heard on the compilation CD WWE: Wreckless Intent, which debuted at #8 on the Billboard charts.

BRAND NEW SIN entered Method of Groove studios in Brooklyn with producer Joey Z (Life of Agony, Stereomud) in April of 2006 to begin tracking Tequila and emerged with an album that is sure to stand the test of time. The disc, mastered by the acclaimed George Marino (Metallica, AC/DC, Guns N' Roses) at Sterling Sound, also features a guest vocal appearance by Peter Steele (Type O Negative) on Reaper Man and is the perfect representation of what this group is ultimately capable of creating.

BRAND NEW SIN is the definition of authentic, meat-and-potatoes classic hard rock chased with hints of down home, southern style blues and an undeniable raw fury that refuses to be denied.
