Bombs was started in Sept. of 2001 by songwriter Jim Gauge. The band has progressed from a heavy industrial sound to a more electronic rock/synth-pop direction, and are gaining a wide crossover audience. Bombs have opened for numerous national and touring acts including The Genitorturers, Pitbull Daycare, Attrition, The Cruxshadows, and Seraphim Shock. Their song "Love Asylum" was remixed by Cleopatra Records artists Razed In Black(visit www.razedinblack.net), and can be heard on the player above. They have showcased for Warner Bros., Virgin, and Island/Def Jam Records.
The band has a wide range of inspiration, drawing heavily from 80's and 90's synth-pop. If you took the hokeyness out of EBM(Electronic Body Music) and gave it a rock attitude, that would be Bombs. "There's so much potential in EBM, but I think people are turned off by the goth clothes and the make-up, etc.,"says Jim Gauge, the band's founder,"If you just took the pop-sensibility already present in the music, beefed it up, and talked about something REAL people can RELATE to; not this 'my soul is my abyss' type of shit, but real life, heartache, loss, good times, and bad, then you've in effect given it a makeover, and new life. That's what we're trying to do--take the things we love about that music to everyday kids."
