Music is one of the high points in my life. I enjoy playing all kinds of music. I grew up on gospel and country, spent my high school and military years listening to the classic metal acts, and as an adult, I find pleasure in jazz, contemporary Christian and a dozen other genres.
I have no formal music education. I can read some music, but would never pass an audition for someone who required this skill. I am, however, teaching myself to read. I don't think reading is an essential skill for a musician to start with. I think it should be something that a person learns as he/she advances.
I started my musical journey when I was six years old with guitar lessons. Naturally, like any six-year old, I became bored and moved on to other things. When I was 13 I began bass lessons and I was hooked for life. I can't seem to put the thing down now!
I recently began writing my own material, which is bass centered. Lots of good music can be made on a bass. Think about Miller, Wooten, Pastorius, and Sheehan. These gentlemen turned a lot of heads with their unorthodox approaches to the instrument.
I am just learning the ins and outs of recording, so my end products aren't exactly studio quality. I am learning quickly though. Any music I put up on this site is for you and I hope you take pleasure in it.
Thanks for your time. I hope to hear from you soon.
