Miles Away
The story behind this instrumental goes back to a day when we were jamming to Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. Samir started playing something else around the same chord progression which sounded really cool and I started soloing over it. This gave birth to our A-minor jams; since we would often jam to something that would be in the key of A-minor. Then when it came time to record something, we thought why not do something that's in A-minor.
The recording process of this song was really unusual. I went over to Samir's house to record something not knowing what it was going to be, other than the fact that it was going to be in the key of A-minor. Plus I only had an hour to record due to some personal reasons. Since we were short on time, Samir thought that I should record my two solo tracks and later on he would lay some rhythm tracks over it and etc. A week later I was very surprised by what Samir had done to it, he transformed it into this thing I like to call Miles Away.
(This track has not yet been uploaded, since Samir still needs to add some magical touches to it, though by the end of the summer swing back to this site to check it out)
