Blood Root Mother is an American rock band from Buffalo, MN. Young, impressionable, and open minded, their sound is influenced by any style of music that uses guitars. Blues, rock, jazz, pop, funk, punk, and even a little classical. Due to the differing in musical tastes within the five piece band, the resulting sound is often a little unexpected from song to song. Blood Root Mother has recently been getting more recognition for what they have been doing for the last five years, and has shared the stage with groups such as Machina, Gingerjake, and Toasterhead, as well as performing at venues like The Rock, The Medina Ballroom, and The Hard Rock Cafe. While some bands are masters of their respective styles of rock music, Blood Root Mother strives to discover a style that has not yet been found.

Blood Root Mothers sound is predominantly a rock vibe that utilizes musical elements of pop, psychedelic, metal, and grunge. There is also a heavy influence of classical and Indian classical music. They are moving away from simple pop song forms, and into more dense structures that repeat less and change keys more. If any existing style can benefit the groove of a song, they will not hesitate to tap into it. If there were four rock bands that influenced the Blood Root Mother, they are the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, and Tool.

Blood Root Mother played show after show during the summer of 2008 promoting their album "The Rabbit Hole" and has sold almost 1000 copies. They met many new people and bands and had a great time getting out of the Twin Cities area a little bit. Near the end of July they won the Minneapolis Battle of the Bands at Trocaderos, narrowly pulling in a larger crowd than the new but nonetheless talented Melloroar.

They are planning to play less shows over the fall and winter and concentrate on new material. Early September they are going back into Winterland Studios to record a five song EP of newer material, and might record another EP in the fall depending on how things go. They hope to record their next full length album by the winter, which would consist of songs that no one besides the group has heard yet, and continue to spread their sound further out into the midwest.

Blood Root Show at the Hard Rock Cafe'

Yo! Friday the thirteenth! Oohhh, spooky. Hopefully a man in a hockey mask does not invade the Cafe' grounds and cut off Ryan's toe or something. Come one come all though it's an all ages and we'll probably do something completely irrelevant.

Fine Line Show

The show at the Fine Line was a success! We had a good turnout, probably about fifty people, half of which came to see us. The stage gave us ample room to groove out, as we are used to pretty much playing in a cardboard box. Hopefully we will be asked to return, as more people tend to wanna party on any night besides Monday. If you got the time, come check us out at the Hard Rock Cafe' in Minneapolis on Friday the Thirteenth, it should be a wacky night. Peace Rob

World of Blood Root

Hello. Tonight we are performing at this mansion in Minnetonka for the Seven Deadly Sins Party. Sounds a bit scandalous, we all picked a sin to represent. Wiley Ryan chose lust before I could {[dick]}, and Elliot picked wrath, which I didn't even know was a sin. Bob chose gluttony, and I went with vanity, which I guess is fitting in the long run anyhoo. Tony was the last to act, so he is either envy, jealous of our superior sins, or sloth due to his lack of quickness to decide. Anyway, it should be killer, playin for a bunch of fancy drunkards. We have a couple TV appearances coming up, an interview and a performance for some local twin cities shows. Also performing at Ogara's Garage pretty soon, which I heard was neat. Just wanted to let anyone or everyone know that we are indeed NOT dead in a bus/plane crash, contrary to what the assholes in the Clairvoyant were saying (Jake Berry's goin down....)
