Bleeding Through is synonymous with the blending of classic death metal, symphonic black metal and just a taste of the angry energy and do-it-yourself spirit of the hardcore scene. The group emerged from the underground to sell a combined quarter of a million copies of their last two albums and have accomplished what few at this stage of their career have pulled together: Declaration, their new album, is more extreme.
This is not a radio-friendly album.
Declaration is heavier, darker, angrier, more pissed off, faster and more epic than anything in the band's already impressive catalog.
The follow-up to The Truth (2006) and This is Love, This is Murderous (2003) was produced by Devin Townsend in Vancouver, British Columbia. Declaration is incredibly dense, layered and full of atmosphere, recalling the finest moments of classic death metal, black metal and hardcore. This record is the definitive album for the band.
The Dearly Demented, the group’s most dedicated fans, know what Bleeding Through is about and many more have discovered for themselves, thanks to year round touring with bands like AFI, Slayer, Marilyn Manson, HIM, Bullet For My Valentine and Cradle Of Filth. And of course, the Orange County group’s own headlining tours in America, Europe, Australia, South America and Asia.
Bleeding Through has always stood for the broken-hearted and betrayed. Declaration expands upon that idea. Contrary to earlier reports of a conceptually driven album, Bleeding Through's latest is their most diverse offering thematically, addressing a variety of topics on tracks like "There Was a Flood," "Germany" and "Death Anxiety."
Frontman Brandan Schieppati has written one last song based on his angry heartbreaking muse, "Sister Charlatan," which closes the album and features the first-ever vocal chorus contribution from virtuoso bass player Ryan Wombacher, who also co-wrote the experimental and dark "In Loving Memory of England." Marta is more present than ever throughout the music, directing real strings and classical instrumentation in addition to her keyboard work.
Guitarist Brian Leppke remains the group’s primary songwriter alongside Scheippati. Derek Youngsma’s drumming is unrivaled by the band’s contemporaries while Bleeding Through’s newest member, Jona Weinhofen, joined the band in the spring of 2007 and adds pure shred to the proceedings.
"Orange County Blonde And Blue" and other tracks have garnered nearly 5 million plays on the band's MySpace page. The band has been featured on the covers of Revolver, Metal Edge, Outburn, Chord and more and received favorable coverage in Spin, Billboard, Alternative Press, Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and many more publications.

Wolves Among Sheep takes you deep inside the world of Bleeding Through. From the studio to the stage to the places they call home in Orange County, the clubs they came up in, and their favorite hangouts, in a long-form behind-the-scenes documentary comprised of interviews with all six members, former bandmates, friends and fans. Wolves Among Sheep provides "The Truth" about Bleeding Through and how they rose from their humble OC hardcore beginnings to share stages with AFI, on Ozzfest and MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" tour. Wolves Among Sheep also includes live sets captured on 2005's Strhess Tour in Los Angeles and San Diego, which gives you never-before-heard songs from what will prove to be their defining album, "The Truth," as well as Bleeding Through classics like "Love Lost In A Hail Of Gunfire" and "Revenge I Seek." This DVD also boasts music videos, out-takes, Japan/Australia tour hijinx, footage of their death-defying van crash and more. This is the real OC.
