Blacktop Manhattan came together in January of 2005 with the common goal of making music they love. Paul, Damien and Adam had been playing in a band for a year prior, until one night they had a jam session with Cam, who soon joined as the full time drummer. Quinn had just left his old band and was asked to fill the vocal void. He agreed and became lead singer: Blacktop Manhattan was born. Since then Blacktop has continued to develop their sound and fan base, playing many shows in the Toronto area. The biggest honor in Blacktops eyes was by far the opportunity to have none other than Dave Mackinon of the Fembots (and a touring member of the Epitaph band known as the Weakerthans) produce and record their demo.

So we are done for now...
We have needed time to experiment with different styles and sounds for a while, and have decided the time is now. So the amazing adventure that was Blacktop Manhattan has officially ended (for now). We all could never express our thanks in full to everyone who ever supported us, it ment worlds. Fear not though, for there are new bands that have been formed, and new adventures to be had. Quinn and Damien have started a band by the name of "Atavan Heroes" and are playing their debut show Thursday July 27th @ the opera house. Paul, Adam and Cam have been cooking something up that is sure to be nothing short of spectacular; so look out for that in the very near future. Yet again we thank everyone who ever came to a show, bought a t-shirt or even posted a nice comment about us; you are the reason we can do stuff like this. Thanks and we will see you soon.

Hey Everybody, hope everything has been going great for you all. We figured it would only be appropriate to let the people know what's up. Currently the name Blacktop Manhattan is synonymous with 5 mad scientists working in the lab. Plenty of new songs are in the works and we'll be hitting the studio in about 2 months' time to cut our demo. BUT WAIT...for those of you who can't wait to get the next slice of the delicious pie that is Blacktop Manhattan- we're playing a show on Friday, June 2nd @ The Funhause. We're going to be the first band on the roster that night and tickets are going to be 10 dollars from band members/ 15 dollars at the doors. Even though it is a bit of a wait do not fear! we guarantee that this will be the best show we've played yet. Hope to see you there :) Until next time.

Well hello everyone! After almost half a year of confusion, good and bad times we have sat down and straightened everything out that had divided us. We now stand a (in a sense) reunited and revamped Blacktop Manhattan who are collectivly ready to take this entire thing to the next level. As of now we have decided to take the next couple of months off to jam and rework things, but plan on returning bigger and blacker sometime in June (we also hope to get a demo we can all be proud of done).
Finally ready to take the world by storm.

Well another awesome night has come and gone and we have yet another show under our belt. However we in blacktop feel that it was truly one of our best (if not our best) show to date. This of course is only possible because of the continual support of our AMAZING fan base, all the regulars, the newbies and of course (to get a little juvenile) the parental units who are always there to lend a hand in the many adventures of blacktop manhattan. So thank you to everyone who makes it possible for kids like us to put on shows like last nights, you are the heart and soul of blacktop. We just provide the soundtrack.

I completely agree with blacktopmanhattan1. It's a
shame that some 10-year-old making a home movie
attracts a record deal but apparently you guys aren't
good enough for one.
