Black Diamond Love is a five piece from Los Angeles. Some say they sound like QOTSA with Amy Winehouse as front woman, others compare their live shows to classics like Jefferson Airplane with intense drum fills and soulful guitar shredding. Young exuberant energy flies in all directions on stage. Bespectacled nerd-guitarists writhe in rock and roll ecstasy while this monster drummer just lays it all out for you in a storm of 32nd notes, meanwhile a young latina Janis Joplin just breaks it down for you with this big beautiful voice. It's really something to behold when you consider the group as a whole has only been together for about a year.
Currently the band is working on their first full length album at Westlake Studios in Los Angeles under the guidance of producer Al Machera and engineer Eric Rennaker. The group is completely independent but is currently being provided some sponsorship through MagNet, an up and coming internet music service provider, via their artist development program. Looking ahead, the 5 piece is planning a few music videos as well as a tour of the western states this coming September.
They released a 5 song EP called Silence is a Sound on January 18th 2008, "Morning Sun" will be featured on Skratch Magazine Vol. 38, "Do What You Want" will be featured on Skratch Magazine Vol. 39
