Bio
Black Cloud is a group of four women with different ideas and influences, but all determined to make expressive and explosive music.
The band started in 2004 and has since played steadily in Montevideo and other Uruguayan cities.
The band's influences are varied; each member brings to the band her own background, feelings and ideas and is nourished form the other members'. In a few chords, we can go from blues to metal, from punk to disco and form a semi-pop ballad to the tearing screaming of grunge and riot.
We are the result of our own mixture, without previous recipes to write the songs and with no rules limiting us. We do what we feel and we feel everything we do.
- In 2005 we took part on the female-art festival United Girls held in Montevideo .
- In 2006 we were included on a compilation of Latin American female-fronted bands called Femme Rock which was released in Bolivia and distributed all over South America .
- In late 2006 we won a radio bands contest called El semillero, held by the show Estamos rodeados on radio Oceano FM.
- We wrote and performed the song She knows for Sonia, one of the main characters of Uruguayan hyperrealistic style comic Cisplatino.
- Our song No queens, no pioneers is the closing theme song of the radio show Autobombo, on El Puente FM 103.3.
