Members: Ckris, Steve & Flint
Bismuth are an alternative rock band from Singapore, founded by school friends Flint (vocals/guitar) and Steve (bass/vocals) in early 2003. Chris (drums/percussion) was drafted into the group in 2006.
The group - named after an element - has undergone several lineup changes and radical musical mutations. Their music is said to be an eclectic amalgam of alternative, indie, avant-garde, funk and, most notably, post-grunge and dream pop. The group's extensive use of guitar effects; dominantly arcane and eccentric songwriting; and passive/agressive shifts in song dynamics have helped to shape the group's idiosyncratic style and sound - perpetually provoking their own ideals to conjure more vivid material.
Bismuth had played plenty of shows and gradually garnering a sturdy following over the years. The group are in the midst of working on their debut EP In/Out Synchronium expected for release sometime in 2007.
