Members: Billy and his guitar
Billy Corbett is a singer/songwriter based in Albany, NY and Hanover, NH. After learning to play guitar on his father's acoustic, he immediately started writing his own songs. Throughout his high school career, he was lead singer and guitarist in the band Turnpike, an Albany-based alternative rock band. Aside from performing at countless private gigs, Turnpike played at esteemed venues such as Northern Lights in Latham, NY and the Washington Park Tulip Festival in the city of Albany. Throughout his time with Turnpike, he continued to perform solo, at performance venues such as Professor Java's in Colonie, NY and Perfect Blend in Delmar, NY. Since coming to Dartmouth College in 2006, he has continued performing both solo and with a group--this time an a cappella group, The Dartmouth Cords. Recently, he opened for Jason Mraz at Dartmouth. As printed in The Dartmouth, "Corbett's breathy vocals on his own personal compositions and on Marvin Gayes 'Sexual Healing' made quite an impression on the audience."
