03/10/07 - Tucson, AZ
So this was our tour kick off show. We showed up and hung out with all of our great friends in the bands We Are The New Electric, Yellow The Vertical, Calling of Syrens, & The Martinet. It was an amazing turn out and a blast. I was not happy at all with my performance.
Half way in to our second song, a fight almossssst broke out, and I got so mad and started screaming out the kids to get the hell out. And after that it was awkward like after you see someone slap their kid in public. On top of that, our set got cut two songs short because it took so long taking care of the litttle brawl.
After the show, we all went out to ihop and had a blast. Then we all went home and slept.
03/11/07 - Hell Paso, TX
We woke up at 8 a.m. after getting about 4 hours of sleep. We started driving to El Paso, and on the way we kept seeing signs for "THE THING", and we decided to make a stop and examine "THE THING". We made the stop, and needless to say, "THE THING" is absolutely amazing! I suggest everyone stop and see "THE THING"!
So after our stop we drove a few more hours and got to El Paso. We talked to a guy who worked at the venue, and told us to go eat and come back. Cree & I ate at an amazing asian food place where they gave us like $13 of food for $5 each because she liked us a lot. But yeah.
We ate and went back to the venue and were there at around 6:00 (which was the load in time). So we unloaded and set all our stuff up. Got ready to load it on stage, and then they told us that the promoter (who hadn't shown up yet) was going to try and get some local bands (because I guess they all cancelled), and to wait until 9.
So during the 3 hours of dead time, we wandered around this shady motel where we saw a guy through an open window shooting up heroin. When it got dark, Cree and I then decided to go ghost hunting. We went into this back room and were walking down a hall with the lights on and there were holes all over the wall. When we got half way down the hall, the lights shut off, and needless to say, we crapped our pants. We never leveled up enough to make it all the way back.
So yeah, the show was cancelled at around 10:00, and they sent us on our way. We drove to albuquerque, and slept in a Wal Mart parking lot (which is a lot of fun).
03/12/07 - Albuquerque, NM
We woke up early morning and walked around Walmart for a little bit (a little bit consists of like 3 hours). After that we wandered around downtown for like 9 hours until the show. It got pretty boring. We went to the venue at 6 because we thought that our load in time was at 6, but it was 9. So after Kyle and I came out of the venue we see the hood of our van open, and it turns out that it broke down.
We sat there for 3 hours while crack heads swarmed around us and stared at us. We were just waiting for the right moment to jump out and beat up some crack heads if they tried to pull some crack head shit like eat some fat kids food. But after 3 hours of that, we installed a new battery, pulled around to the back, unloaded, ate, played, and left. The show was really awkward. Our crowd is not a bunch of over 21 ska fans. We played four songs and unloaded as fast as we could. That was that. Then we left.
THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT ALBUQUERQUE
03/13/07 - Amarillo, TX
We drove through the night so that we could get to Amarillo TX as soon as possible. We got there at around 6 am, and woke up our best friend hannah so we could stay with her. We stayed up talking for a while and woke up our other best friend Vanessa. Then we got our sleep on. We slept until 2 and all got ready. Hannah got off work at 4 and we all went and feasted at SHARKYS! The burritos there are freaking delicious! It's the potatoes that makes them special.
But yeah. After that, we headed to the venue, and hung out for a while. We hung out with Mike & Jacob, and just raged on shit, and just hung out. We were the second band to go on after "Dusty Rhodes" which were amazing! We bascially played for all our best friends in Texas. We played for TGH, JACOB, MIKE, HANNAH, VANESSA, And a bunch more people, and at the end of our set, they asked us to play the break down again so we did that, and It was amazing! Cree got stomped on by IRA. Then they asked us to play the rap song which is on our cd. We did that, thanks to Hannah for reminding me of my lyrics. HA!
After the show, we all went to Dennys with Hannah. Then Vanessa, Matt, & Adam met up with us too, and we hung out until like 4 am hanging out at Dennys and Toot n' Totum. All you need to know is that Adam should do the voice for Meat Wad on ATHF, and know that "Dude, that was all sprite!". You'll understand the meatwad thing once I get the video edited, and uploaded.
THE AMARILLO CREW AT THE GAS STATION BEFORE WE LEAVE!
03/14/07 - Durango
So after we got done hanging out and saying our goodbyes, we got in the van, and drove our little hearts out to Durango because it was a 9 hour drive. It was an extremely uneventful drive. We met a friend outside of town by walmart, and watched a crazy dude shooting his gun at a range up the mountain. Then we went into town, and Luke and I passed out in the van while Blake, Kyle, & Cree wandered about down town.
Then we went to chucks, unloaded, and showered, and just hung out until the show. We played the house show for like 20 people, and cooked some Veggie Burgers after, and got Sonic. We jammed in the garage, and on request once again had to play our break down (IFM aka IFM) at the end of the set so that a few of our good friends could sing along. Then, the best thing every happened. GUITAR HERO 2 TOURNAMENT! We had the poster and all. I sort of whooped everyones bootyhole. I was the winner of course. And then after that just hung out and slept.
03/15/07 - Durango (day off)
We woke up at like 10:30, and I ended up waking chuck up by playing the piano because I thought he was at work at 10. But he just came wandering up stairs and I felt like a jerk! Then he went to work at noon, and then his sister Stacey came over and took us into town where we got some amazing sandwiches. And then she went back to work, and we hung out downtown until around 6.
At 6, we all went back to chucks, and got our baseball bat, and ball (both foam), and went to the local school and played baseball for like an hour and a half, and Team Onions lost big time. Chuck named us Team onions because we make you cry. But yeah, then we went and played on the jungle gym until the police came and asked us to leave. THEY HAVE NICEST COPS EVER! So if you ever plan on getting in trouble with the law, do so there.
So at around 9, we headed to the grocery store, stocked up on pizza, ice cream, root beer, sunflower seeds, and a few other things. I didn't pay more than 99 cents for a single item. We then went back to chucks and watched the movie CRANK. It is surprisingly good. After that we decided to prank call a few people at like 3 in the morning. HAHAHA! Funniest thing ever. All you need to know is that we ended up talking to Danielle Fidelity, and Jefree Star on the phone, and I think that Jeffree Star, and D-fids friend are racist. The said really repulsing things, but it was hysterical at the same time. Then we fell asleep at like 4 or so.
THE GUITAR HERO TOURNAMENT POSTER
03/16/07
So we woke up at around 12 on this day and said our goodbyes to chuck. We packed up and got ready to leave. We left chucks at around 2, and went to go eat, and ended up leaving durango at like 4 pm, and it was a 5 hour drive to albuquerque where we were playing a bar AGAIN! We got there right on time, and loaded our gear in, and played at 945. It was a little bit better crowd that the 12th, but it was still a bit awkward playing for a bunch of 21 and over people. We had to play at volumes so quiet that we could have brought 10 watt practice amps. We were really irritated by this, but it's a bar, so we just tried to rock out extra hard, and paid no nevermind to our surroundings, and were not worried about breaking anything. We did not do so though.
We played and loaded up, and took off so we could get back to familiar territory ASAP.We started driving at like 1030, but every road was closed off due to ST. Pattys day. So we ended up finally getting out of albuquerque at 12! It sucked! But we drove all night long to get back to AZ.
03/17/07
We got to Kyles parents at like 6 am, and Luke and I didn't want to go to sleep because we had to go hang out with our friend Chad. So at around 1030, lukes friend picked luke, blake and I up and we drove about an hour up to ahwatukee to see chad. We got Chipotle which was delicious. Then after that we went bowling. I never lost though, ashley did because she's not good at bowling. She only lost by like 2 points though.
Then we met up with our buddy Denise. Then we went to chads parents and said our goodbyes. We miss chad a lotttttt! So after that, we went to walmart, got some letters which spell out "BUD-WEIS-ERRR". And went to the show which we thought started at 6, but started at 830. So we sat around, applied some letters to our instruments, and got ready for the show.
We played a show, and during the pause in Palisade Part II, I lifted my guitar up and yelled BUD, luke lifed his up and said WEIS, and blake lifted up his and said ERRRRRR and then we raged on the breakdown. During the set, I actually managed to get my tuning machine caught in my shoelace. I think I am the only person to ever do so. It was pretty righteous. We played alright, but it was fun seeing familiar faces! We got to play with Love Hate Hero which is a pretty AMAZING BAND! Their guitarist is NUTS! He shreds like a teenage mutant ninja turtle killing asian (the shredder). Then we loaded up, and drove back to tucson, unloaded and went to sleeeeeeep.

Saturday, March 10 - Skrappy's - Tucson, AZ
Had a freakin blast raging with some really great friends of ours. For the most part, the show was a huge success, and we are so greatful to have had the opportunity to play for all of you. We seriously didn't think anyone was going to be there, and you all blew us away! Thank you so, so much!
Yellow, the Vertical was especially impressive. Relatively young dudes, but they really did have their crap together. I had seen a few of them play in previous bands back when I lived up in Phoenix and can honestly say that they have come a long, long way. I look forward to hearing more out of them in the future.
As for our performance, I always make sure to have the time of my life when I'm up there onstage, but I would like to apologize to anyone who was hurt or offended during the incidence that occurred in the crowd during the early moments of our set. People get excited and carried away. Cree's neice is fine and was actually very amused with her first show once she got over the embarassment of all the attention towards her situation.
It was a pleasure to have played one of Skrappys' final shows at the current location, and wish Kathy and Skrappys all the best of luck. We will gladly do anything for Skrappys for as long as they are running.
Sunday, March 11 - H.O.R.R. - El Paso, TX
Once we arrived at the venue, we found out that the show had been cancelled and moved on to Albuquerque. Lame. Not much to tell here. Barry, the promoter, was cool enough to give us gas money. Seriously, all sarcasm aside, regardless of the crappiness of the situation, it was way respectable of him to do that. Most people would just tell us "too bad" and throw us out the door.
Instead, I will tell you the tale of The Thing, which we encountered on the way to El Paso. This tourist attraction is somewhere in the Southeastern region of Arizona, and if I'm not mistaken, it actually inspired a concept used in the episode of the cartoon, Doug, where he was on a roadtrip with his family to visit the painted gorge.
So anyways, about The Thing...
There are advertisements for it starting about 25 miles away, featuring large horror lettering and phrases that suggest something dark and sinister: "Have you seen The Thing?" "What is The Thing" So on, and so forth.
At this point, I am immediately reminded of the Doug episode and am completely expecting it to be something extremely lame and deceptively advertised, but I never could have predicted just how right I was. We had to stop. We knew it would be funny one way or another. We each pay a dollar to get in and are told to follow the path through the 3 buildings.
Inside the first building, it hits me right away. "The Thing" is not one singular item we are supposed to gawk at in terror. "The Thing", in this case, is a phrase used within the context of a sentence of historical documentation.:
The joke's on us, I guess. I mean, I did fall to the ground in tears over how hilarious it was that we paid money to be completely fooled, and that was most likely the plan. At least we weren't the first AZ band to have been thwarted by the dark entity that is The Thing.
Maybe we'll start an exhibit with similar intentions. "$2 Handjobs", it will be called. We can usher our victims one at a time into a dark room where a mysterious voice instructs them to sit on their hands. A few minutes later, it will tell them to have a blast. You know, once their hands are numb. Maybe it will feel like someone else is doing it. So, I guess we have that business venture to look forward to, in case the whole band thing doesn't work out..
