In 2004 UK rockers Beyond All Reason quietly released their debut EP. What no-one could have anticipated was the rabid critical and commercial response it garnered.

Radio 1â€™s Zane Lowe and Mary Anne Hobbs broadcast tunes from the four tracker repeatedly. A Radio 1 Rockshow session followed, along with on air assertions from Jo Whiley that they were one of a handful of bands set to go ballistic. Shortly after Zane Lowe made similar comments on his MTV Gonzo program. It was mayhem.

The UK rock press was quick to follow suit. Metal Hammer featured the band on one of their covermount CDâ€™s. Rocksound listed them in the Top 10 Unsigned Acts in the UK. The reviews were fantastic. Blasting live shows were winning over fans left, right and centre. Beyond All Reason had just seemed to explode from nowhere.

And theyâ€™ve been hard at work ever since. Determined to create the best debut album they could, they set themselves the highest standards imaginable. No hype, no spin, none of the rubbish which real rock fans see straight through. They just wrote and wrote and wrote. Then they learnt how to record their own material, made themselves a studio in their practice room and recorded their album. They had total control over all aspects of their songs, their recordings and their finished album. It was the purest form of music creation imaginable.

This is a band who truly have a passion for heavy music. And â€˜Words Of Betrayalâ€™ should see them capitalising on their sterling early success to join the vanguard of British rock proponents at work today.
