Since their formation in 2006, Ottawa-based rockers "Benefit Of A Doubt" have been busy building a loyal fanbase across North America. After the initial success of their demo "She Could Be"and extensive touring in 2008, the band were entered in the prominent "Big Money Shot" competition sponsored by NewCap Radio. Shortly after placing as finalists and being named one of the best new groups in Canada, the band began the creative process of pushing forward with their new album.In early 2009, the band travelled to Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, TX where they recorded a 5-song EP with Grammy-winning producer Stephen Short. The new self-titled EP was released on May 12th, 2009. Lead-vocalist Chase Van Dusen draws a vibrant range from the fiery energy of "Honestly Say", to the calm hushful tones of "This Time Tomorrow". Along with bandmates Patrick Gilmour (drums), and Connor Muldoon (bass), the group delivers a captivating and powerful live performance.The band received invitations to perform showcases at Canadian Music Week 2009 in March as well as North By Northeast in June 2009. In addition to touring throughout the Spring, the band recently recorded a music video for their new single "We Are The Broken" which was filmed in July 2009. "Our music is as much about our own feelings and experiences as it is about connecting with fans who can take our songs and make them meaningful in their own lives." As they are constantly on tour, Benefit Of A Doubt look forward to continue sharing their music with the world
