With musical interests ranging from funk, to jazz, to rock, to hip-hop, Beautiful Losers have a diverse sound created by four very different individuals with a common goal. "From the begining, one of our main goals has been to allow each one of us to express our individual personality through our music."-Lead guitarist Trevor Hougardy. The result of this free approach to making music is a genuine style that has the ability to evolve from song to song without losing its' distinct sound. Formed in the Summer of 2004 as a cover band playing weekly gigs around the Springfield Missouri area, The Beautiful Losers soon decided to concentrate less on learning songs, and more on creating them. Within a few months the band wrote and recorded thier first EP featuring "Pathetic" and "Here We Go", then a second in the Spring featuring "Gravity" and "Uncertain Disaster." "We all were pretty excited after hearing the first and second recordings because we felt like we were achieving exactly what we set out to. We were making our music without worrying about what it would be called." -Lead Singer Eric Smith. With new material to perform, B.L. began playing venues all over Springfield, and branching out to other nearby cities bringing thier emotional and energetic live show to new audiences. "The coolest local upcoming band is Beautiful Losers. They have a great range of songs and culture. The band has recently completed the recording of thier first full length album and are continuing to book shows for 2006.
