Hello from
Battery Cage HQ.
Well, it's been a while since we've had much news to report. As many of you know, we have been hard at work for a number of years on our new album
"A Young Person's Guide To Heartbreak".
This record, the follow-up to 2004's
"World Wide Wasteland", will be released on November 7th through
Metropolis Records. At over 76 minutes long, with 19 songs, and featuring no remixes, this is surely the strongest document of our musical vision to date! Unlike previous releases, this record focuses more on downtempo, guitar-driven, and extremely personal songwriting...definitely different from the club-oriented records we have made before!
We have a digital-only single release, entitled "Single", available
NOW (10.17.06) from
iTunes,
Rhapsody,
Napster, and many other online distributors. The title track "Single" is aimed directly at the dancefloor, and bridges the gap between "World Wide Wasteland" and the new album...with hard club beats, catchy synth hooks, and a powerful blend of male and female vocals!
Additionally, this release features the first available recording by former Nettwerk Records artists,
Manufacture, since 1992's "The Voice Of World Control". The "Single (Manufacture Remix)" is a hard hitting package of chemical beats and ultra crisp production. Other tracks include an exclusive remix of the song "Hustler" by
Molotov Elysian as well as the gorgeous instrumental b-side track "I Can't Take This Anymore".
We have posted edited preview tracks for the new single at our
Myspace page. Take a listen and don't forget to add us as a friend!!
But Myspace is not the only music portal on the internet! For those who are wondering what all the talk of our "change of musical direction" is about, you can check out edited preview clips of almost every song on the new record at the following locations:

Each one of the above sites has _unique_ clips from the album, so be sure to check them all out! If you choose to add us as friends, don't be afraid of us bombarding you with tons of promotional notices, we have a strict policy of only releasing updates when there's a good amount of useful information!!
In other web-related news, Battery Cage now has a new
video channel on Youtube.com. All of our videos are currently available there, including our behind-the-scenes video series from our 2005 tour with Stromkern!! Be sure to check it out!!

"A Young Person's Guide To Heartbreak"!! In the meantime, all of our releases are currently available through the
Metropolis mail-order site, until our online store reopens.
We hope you enjoy the new single and album! Stay tuned for news of upcoming compilation and remix appearances...
