Backyard Thicket is a compilation of songs recorded in John Hendrickson's bedroom, apartment, and house basement. John uses a mix of samples, digital loops, a midi keyboard, and various percussion instruments to make song bites and mixes to cure boredom.

"MosDefDylan" is a mash-up of Mos Def's "May-December" and Bob Dylan's "In My Time of Dyin'." John edited the songs and added sound effects throughout.

"Heard 'Em Say vs. Porcelain" is a mash-up between Kanye West and Moby.

"The Chase" is an original with sampled drum loops. All other instruments are performed by John.

NEWS: 11/15/08 - New skeleton of an unfinished beat: "Speakeasy." All original instrumentation.

Get Backyard Thicket in your backyard...There's a few new pics up from a house party I DJ'ed on Halloween. Will be back there for a Christmas party, date TBD.

More new stuff coming soon...I picked up a hilariously small vintage GPX synth at a thrift store for $12 bucks.
