Ok, first things first. What is Bacci? It's not the little game with balls (bocci). We like lawn sports as much as the next guy, especially if there is a BBQ, a cooler and a guitar nearby.
Bacci is a four piece band from NYC that blends acoustic folk with old school hip-hop. The line up includes guitar, bass, drums, with turntables and a sequencer. Our DJ, Rob Flow, spins in NYC and has appeared on Chappelle's Show.
Bacci's latest release, More, was mixed by studio pro Jamie Siegel (Lauryn Hill) from which two tracks "Secret Plan" and "Shine & Blue" are being licensed to MTV.
On top of our two albums (Hey Girl [2002], More [2005]) of strong original material our live shows never disappoint as we throw in an old favorite ranging from hip-hop to acoustic folk: Vivrant Thing (Q-Tip), The Watcher (Dr. Dre), Rosa Parks (Outkast) to Fast Car (Tracy Chapman), and Rodeo Clown (Jack Johnson).
Some have said that our music brings in people with a variety of taste, a couple that come to mind are: Jack Johnson, G. Love, A Tribe Called Quest, John Mayer, OAR, Slightly Stoopid, Jason Mraz. We take it as a compliment. If anyone can get us in touch with Q-Tip we'd really appreciate it.
In closing, a blurb about yours truly from Mark Bialczak from the Syracuse Post-Standard:
"Bacci's music feels kind of jazzy, kind of pop, kind of alternative and very hip." (Thanks Mark, we like you too)
