It's that time yet again
To start this month's studio update, -we- the boys in Ayin have been extremely busy as usual. Let it be our day jobs, that awesome Christmas rush to get that prized parking spot in front of the mall before that lame ass - blue haired granny does, or finishing our first album we haven't had a ton of time to ourselves.
If things continue the way we hope them too, that's something that won't change even after the holidaze (check that out! I used popular terminology!). Sometimes it can seem a bit daunting, but it will be worth it to bring the new album, and some new merchandise (including a new t-shirt design from MANICproject) to all of you at the shows that will be coming up in the New Year.
So enough about the personal things of our lives, lets get why you really clicked on the link that says "Studio Update".
As of December 16th 2006, tracking for this album is COMPLETE! Vocals, drums, piano, guitar and bass are all finished, all that's left is some post-production (or as the studio nerds call it "ear candy"), some very intense mixing, a final attempt at mastering, and then its off to be cloned into thousands of purchasable replicas for the final destination of your very own CD player.
Even though the end is closer than it ever has, it will still be a bit before we release it due to all the work we still have to do.
While we are taking care of all the legalities, finishing everything else sonically, our good friend Phil Istomin of the MANICproject will be finishing up on the visual aspect of the album. For those of you unfamiliar with Phil's work, do yourself a favor and log onto manicproject.com or myspace.com/manicproject and check out his art (or music or photography for that matter), to get a glimpse of what the album will look like. The actual art of the album doesn't appear on his site, but you'll get the sense of why he was our first and only choice for this task.
Now for those of you that have been tracking this albums progress since we started, you may remember that this album is basically about the experience and influence that we as humans live in this particular day and age, and how those experiences and influences can cause a divide between us. Let it be about war, politics, relationships, drugs, or the general media, everyone has an opinion that they feel persistent on. We think Phil found the perfect way to visualize this concept, and really bring it to life.
The end is in sight, and we're extremely excited to bring this to all of you. Hopefully you'll be as excited to get it as we are to give it to you. Till the next update:
Happy Holidaze,
Ayin
p.s. feel free to get us presents, we're pretty easy to please. j/k
