'Aurelius is the sythesis of two seemingly disparate musical currents in modern times--hardcore and classical. On one creative end, you have a young hardcore band and on the other end, you have a seasoned avant-garde orchestra lead by an experienced maestro. The compositions vacillate between heavy, driving and grooving riffs, to math-metal prog sections, to massive and majestic chorus-like parts, to experimental orchestral moments to lush and beautiful symphonic movements. Recently featured in the video game 'Tony Hawk's Project 8', as well as ESPN's X-Games as well as other media, and with an album release on the way, Aurelius is ready to present a convincing argument that two disparate worlds can exist in the most challenging and beautiful of ways.'

-Devon LaBonte, Music and the Arts Magazine

'Aurelius may in fact be the greatest musical endeavor of our time. It is the unlikely marriage of a young experimental/hardcore band and an orchestra lead by an iconoclastic conductor. Mathematical hardcore experimental passages, 20th century style symphonic movements, straight-ahead rockin' grooves, lush and romantic orchestrations to epic and beautiful choruses, Aurelius speaks with a wide musical vocabulary that hits deep on both an intellectual and emotional level. Sponsored by the Guggenheim Foundation for the arts, a wide-scale release of a concerto for hardcore band and orchestra is in the works, as well as a world-wide tour. 'Mastery of the Self' is but a glimpse (an incredible first endeavor at that) of what is to come. Prepare yourself for one of the greatest artistic collaborations of our time.' - The New York Times, 2006.
