Riddle me THIS: 5 guys come from different parents and, yet, regardless of the band they are in they are from the same family. How is that possible? The truth is in the answer!

We are highly skilled, critically acclaimed musicians who attack every note with pinpoint accuracy and precision timing. Well, we're highly skilled musicians who attack every note. Ok, we're just 5 guys who like to play music on Saturday.

The following quotes are from an interview that took place shortly after forming the band. It's interesting to peer into the psyche of the members of AI.

"Well, I am interested in pretty much anything with "Drums" in it. Drums are quite possibly the singular most important element in a band or any sort of music, for that matter. A beat full of well placed and well timed fills transforms an otherwise dull song into something extraordinary! Here's the thing--normal people like you and I could have literally thousands of CD's full of nothing but drum tracks and loops and we would be absolutely cool with that. Probably could go on happy like that for 100 years! Sure, other elements of a song are necessary too, but as soon as the drums stop... whoooosh... there goes the excitement."

- Joel

"Guitars are it for me. Sure, you can have drums to give you a beat, but what you REALLY need are shredding guitars!!! You need a good steady rhythm guitar and a few good licks for accent to really give it life. Look - it's like this: Normal people buy and burn CD's for insane guitar sounds, effects, screaming solos and rapid pulsating guitars. 'Harmony' is the name of the game! If guitars were the only thing, people would be happy for 100 years. Sure, other elements of a song that are necessary too, but as soon as the guitars stop ... whoosh ... there goes the excitement."

- Bryson

"The bass guitar is it for me," says AI's bassist, Jon. "If the band was the human body, the bass would be - the brain. If you don't have the bassist doing his thing, there is no flow. The rest of the band becomes empty. Not as full. It's like the band is brain dead. If all that existed on CD's were bass lines and bass loops, we'd all live for an extra 100 years. Sure, other elements of the song are necessary too, but as soon as the bass stops playing ... whoosh ... there goes the excitement."

- Jon

"Yeah, of course guitars and drums are important. But you need someone with a creative mind to come up with ... the stuff that I do. I mean, seriously ... I write a lot of our music. A LOT! 95% at least.

If you don't have creative song writing and simple leads to make your ear follow, what do you have? I like to call it the "Katrina Effect". You have nothing left. If you have no song, you have nothing to play. If you have no simple lead, you have nothing to direct your ear to the next note. I'm sure if everything that existed on CD's was creative song ideas and catchy leads, we'd all live for 100 years ... PLUS! I mean, sure - other elements of the song are necessary too, but as soon as you take away creative song writing and directional leads ... whoosh ... there goes the excitement."

- Ethan

"I'm a singer. In my opinion, the voice is the most powerful and beautiful instrument in the world. No other instrument needs so much time and dedication to it for flawless perfection. If a band didn't have any vocals, what would you be? Some band your grandparents listened to. AND, what looks crazier? Walking around humming Beethoven's 5th symphony, or straining the words to 'Sweet Child' like Axl Rose? (oh..um.. can we edit that out of the interview?) Strange people humming strange noises scares me a lot. Bottom line is if we had CD's that only had great singers on it, we'd live for 1,000 years. Yes, 1,000 years! Sure, other elements of the song are necessary too, but if you take away the vocals, it's just boring, painful, mindnumbing noise."

- Brandon
