Review in Concert Hall "El Sol"

blog post
At last the day came, because we desired to see live one of the Spanish bands that, in the studios, have surprised us in the last few months: the Atsphear band from Madrid. With just one album this quintet has gained support from the public and the recognition of the specialized press, because if we focus on their youth, techinique and freshness, they can become, without any doubt, in one of the national references for the metal, as here as for the rest of Europe.

The debut of New Line System has given a lot to talk about for its quality resonates throughout. Therefore we hoped there was whishes to enjoy this force in live, and where better than in their home city to do that.

Atsphear went to scene under the applauses of the Sol hall that presented a show much better than I expected with weather and time were not the most convenient (after midnight people were still arriving to the hall).

After all the guests were situated, Atsphear needed be full of energy to keep the crowd alive, something that they managed well with when they played a great beginning theme, the very well known Atsmosphere X, that they played for the first time live, and got the people to their feet. Following with the order of their album, they attacked with a great song Psycho Circle, demonstrating the reason why the Melodic Death Metal has so many fans. With these two songs played, they offered us a surprise in the shape of a new song called The Frozen Silhouette which left us with our mouth open.

With Supernova the group had the approval of the people. We came to see the style of the beginning, because the group, with Rafael Fernandez, who has nothing to envy to the other European Swedish singers of this style. And so, we came to a curious moment that was when the sound was improved considerably, after several problems with the basses. We enjoyed a greater and clearer volume, making the songs mentioned before looked as if they had lacked force, because the change was so noticeable.

Believe was without any doubt one of the best cuts, demonstrating that Rafael sings well with clear voices or in an aggressive way, perfectly accompanied by the guitars of Sergio and Manuel. The melodies came to light with Family, a sounded twister that resulted to be one of the best, to almost finished with another new song, The Watchtower, which again created great future expectations.

Without noticing we got to the inflection point that every band reaches to fill their fans full of adrenaline. With their last three cuts, one curious and savage version of the Be Quick or be dead from the Iron Maiden, under the aggressive potential of Atsphear, the last new theme of the night, a very strong Black Orchid that left us with the desire of see more new releases, and to close the dark Hall of Mirrors that stole the last breaths of an effusive public.

Thereby finished a very powerful performance that drew a crowd despite the bad weather, because the climate was the alliance of the dark and savage sound of a group that will certainly bring great times and happiness to the Spanish Metal. Their hard work in the studio and, above all, live, leave very clear the sonorous potential of Atsphear.
