Rock / Progressive / Alternative
In the early spring of 2006, a creation of musical genius was born in the great city of Buffalo, located in the western region of the state of New York. (Quick geography lesson...to those unfamiliar with New York - which approximates about 96.34% of the world's population - Buffalo is its own municipality and not a suburb of the metropolis known as New York City).
This awe-inspiring act known as Athera has not only captivated audiences with its immaculate interpretation of hard rock music, but has redefined what sexual beauty is for an entire generation. With rock hard abs that would be the envy of any man (Fabio, I'm looking in your direction), and hair that doesn't resemble that of a 14th century pre-pubescent squire (i.e., 92.657% of today's bands), Athera has become the 21st century model for bodily perfection. It is only a matter of time when this quintet will be mentioned alongside other sexual icons including, but not limited to: Tom Selleck, Eric Estrada and the guy who played Boner on "Growing Pains." In the following paragraph, staying in line with the standard conventions of band biographies, the accomplishments of this fine, young act will be recounted...
Athera has shared the stage with several international touring acts including: Skindred, Trust Company, Life of Agony, The Burden Brothers (featuring Vaden Todd Lewis of the Toadies), Badfish, Project 86, Inhale Exhale, Chasing Victory, Sullivan, Horse the Band, Black Light Burns (featuring Wes Borland, former Limp Bizkit guitarist) and Julien-K (former members of Orgy). The band has also appeared alongside pop-punk heavyweights New Found Glory on a sampler disc released through Substream Music Press in the Fall of 2007.
