Atavista
The sound of Atavista is unique and dodges easy comparison to other groups. The band's diversing style from song to song stems from the member's varying musical favorites, and has been compared to Foo Fighters for melodic value and Joy Division for its bare, but crunchy, attack.

Atavista is Ben Kincius on guitar, keyboards, and vocals. He is the chief songwriter and arranger, and produced the band's early recordings in 2004. Brian Kincius, cousin, adds another guitar with metal muscle. Rounding out the group is Nate Miller on bass and Drew Kincius, younger brother of Ben, on drums.

Their bare bones approach to a pounding beat mixed with complex, layered guitars gives Atavista that signature sound.

(April 21, 2006) A good tip for you listeners - the stream quality is pretty good, but the sound is best when you download our songs to your comp, especially "Where Is My Mind?" (apologies to the Pixies!). So download, dammit! (Oh yeah, and try out our stuff with a good pair of headphones and some mood lighting - maybe a few beers too.)
