ASHLER

The project began in 2003 when JC sold a guitar pedal to Luisfer. Both guitarrists wanted to start a band in that moment. JC asked Luisfer to join as a vocalist in a project that survived since highschool. Luisfer tried as a singer but he was not good enough to fill that place. However, in the end of that trial Luisfer started to play with the guitar and improvised something that the drummer of that time (Roberto Guarderas) followed. Both Guarderas and JC decided to fire the other guitarrist and give that place to Luisfer. The bass player was brother of the fired guitarrist therefore he abandoned the project.

The three began to define the sound of the future ASHLER. They worked in a song that Luisfer wrote months ago: La Danza. This track was written with the initial intention to be a powerfull trash metal song. With JC and Guarderas influences the track adquired a progressive and melodic turn. Santiago Dvila in the voice and Fabrizzio in the keyboards joined the project. Fabrizzio came with new influences and gave another turn in the bands style. Now ASHLER was defined as a Symphonic Heavy Metal band. La Danza was the only complete track of this period of time. It was recorded and sent to some radio shows. The airplay was not complete. The process finished after several shows playing La Danza and 80s covers.

Guarderas and Dvila left the band. In this breakpoint JC, Luisfer and Fabrizzio decided to go on with the project. At the same time they decided to change completely the bands style. They looked for a female singer and a new drummer. Luisfer began to compose songs with different influences, leaving Heavy Metal in the other sidewalk. Santi was the first one in joining the new ASHLER in the summer of 2004. He won that place inmediately since he brought new ideas in the bands music, in despite of his short age (17) and the short time he was playing the drums (9 months). The four musicians started to reinvent ASHLERs music in a long process filled with complications.

Several voices tried their luck in the band and for different reasons they didnt fit in the artistic proposal of the band. Untill finally ASHLER found the one. Diana showed for an audition and she stayed for good in the band. The tracks started to take their shape with a sound that the band itself cant define yet. The influences are wide, since classic music and academic, trhough funk and latin rythms, untill progressive and gothic. The band has a high sense of its own stetic and creativity, and thanks to that, is achieving step by step a special place inside the local scene. Several succesfull performings and media reviews with positive comments have traced the bands path that promess to be walked untill the end. 2006 promess to be the year of ASHLER.

This year ASHLER recorded an EP with 6 songs. This is the beginning of a new concept. The band now works on the promotion of the EP "January 13th".
